Laura Groves is an artist and producer born in Bradford and based in South London. As a multi-disciplinary artist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Laura Groves explores themes of inner-worlds, connection, pattern, memory, healing and environments, mixing songwriting and experimental synthesised sound, textural electronic layering and a passion for home recording. Following on from her work as Blue Roses on XL Recordings, Laura has released two EPs under her own name on DEEK Recordings; ‘Thinking About Thinking’ (2013) and ‘Committed Language’ (2015), followed by 'A Private Road' (2020), 'Radio Red' (2023) and Yes (2025), released on Bella Union. Alongside and intertwined with her solo work, she has followed a thread of collaboration alongside artists including Actress, Richard Russell’s Everything is Recorded project, Sampha, Joviale, Fabiana Palladino, Samantha Morton and Darkstar. As well as composing live soundtrack for film and a career as an in-demand live musician, she has created and curated Desire Paths - an evolving creative project encompassing live music gatherings focusing on improvised music, a long-running NTS Radio show and photography, video work and writing and artwork publications.
