JOHN TAMS

The Moira Village Hall, DE12 6DZ, Moira, Swadlincote.

NATIONAL FOREST FOLK CLUB presents:
Still one of the most compelling performers in any genre, let alone folk music, JOHN TAMS returns to Moira, and we are proud to know we are one of his very favourite venues. Always warmly received on his previous visits to Moira, we are so pleased he has been able to fit us into his ridiculously busy schedule of performing, writing and researching.
John Tams described by Mojo as "one of the ultimate British songwriters" has had a career spanning five decades in every medium. A member of the Albion Band and Home Service he is perhaps best known for his work at the National Theatre and as Rifleman Daniel Hagman in the Sharpe television series.
He is a seven times winner of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, including an award for Best Duo, with longtime collaborator and friend Barry Coope.  He is the Songmaker for Warhorse, a member of the original creative team and has toured the world with the production.
