Funk-punk Leeds outfit FLAT MOON celebrate the release of their debut album ‘Cookin’ Up A Groove’ with a hometown headline at Brudenell Social Club.
With their infectious and unpredictable live show reputation beginning to proceed them, Flat Moon’s sound is characterised by their dynamic saxophone-guitar combination backed by an intricate rhythm section, topped with screaming vocals.
The group know their audiences have come to their show to escape the world and enjoy being themselves for a while, so prioritise making everyone welcome through the eclectic range of styles and moods in their music - an attribute dubbed “genre-fluid”.
Flat Moon have enjoyed an exceptionally busy year touring the UK, including a jam-packed festival season that saw the psychedelic 6-piece performing sets at Glastonbury, Tramlines, Kendal Calling, Humber Street Sesh, Beat-Herder & more. The group have also been featured on BBC Introducing for multiple appearances, interviews and a live session, as well as performing on the BBC Introducing stage at Humber Street Sesh.
Working hard throughout the year in Leeds’ own Eiger Studios, Flat Moon are now releasing their debut album ‘Cookin’ Up A Groove’, the LP arriving on 5th December 2025. The album showcases the groups genre-fluid focus with a selection of groove-centred tracks that take the listener through the influences of the group, both musical and otherwise.
